Catch It Early and the Tree Usually Stays

Why this is different here

Tree Health & Disease Care, done the way it should be

A tree that's declining is telling you something. Thin canopy, early color, dieback at the top, fungus at the base. Read it early enough and you often have options that don't involve a chainsaw.

The default answer in this trade is 'it's stressed, take it out.' Plenty of declining trees are dealing with something fixable: compacted soil, mulch piled against the trunk, a severed root from a driveway pour, or drought on a young transplant. We look for the cause before we quote the removal.
  • We look for the cause, not just the symptom
  • Soil, root zone and trunk checked, not only the leaves
  • Honest call on whether treatment is worth the money
  • Structural pruning to take load off a compromised tree
  • A plain recommendation when a tree genuinely can't be saved
Answers first

The five things everybody asks

  • Is this tree dangerous?

  • Will it hit my house?

  • What will the work cost?

  • Will the crew damage my yard?

  • Will everything be cleaned up?

Three steps. That's it.

How it works

STEP 01

We diagnose

Canopy, trunk, root flare and soil. Often the problem is at the bottom, not the top.

STEP 02

We explain the options

What's treatable, what isn't, and what it would realistically buy you.

STEP 03

We do the work

Pruning, root-zone work, or removal if that's honestly the right call.

Questions we get asked a lot

My tree is losing leaves in summer. Is it dying?

Not necessarily. Heat and drought stress cause early leaf drop here every year. What matters is whether it leafs out normally next spring and whether there's dieback in the upper canopy.

What's the white fungus at the base of my tree?

Conks or mushrooms at the root flare usually mean decay in the root system or lower trunk. That one is worth having someone look at, because it affects whether the tree can stand up.

Is mulch bad for trees?

Mulch is good. Mulch piled against the trunk like a volcano is bad, and it's the single most common avoidable thing we see. Pull it back off the flare.

Can you save a tree that's already half dead?

Sometimes we can reduce the risk and buy time. We won't take your money pretending we can reverse it.
